My name is Michelle and I live on Sydney's Northern Beaches, NSW Australia. I got my first guinea pigs, Tegan (from
a petshop), and Sian (from my neighbour Sharon). Tegan was a golden agouti who lived to the great age of 6 1/2 and Sian,
a self black with an orange patch, lived to 3yrs. A friend of my mum's told us about the cavy club and their show
so I decided to stop by and take a look. There were so many breeds I had never seen or heard of before. I was
told that I could show my pet piggies, so off we went to the next show, became a member and bought two show pigs (a pink eyed
golden and a pink eyed white). I registered my stud name, MALIBU, shortly after and have been travelling to shows
near and far ever since. I filled the 'Entries Secretary Position' of the Northsiders Cavy Club in 1999 and am
still enjoying doing this. I entered the Sydney Royal Easter Show for the first time last year (2000) and this
year took out BEST IN SHOW, with my black crested sow "Grand Champion Mt.Loiusa Jutta". I am a NSW steward
(I take the pigs to the Judge's table in pen shows) and have been stewarding at the Sydney Royal for the past two years.
I travelled to the Nationals at Narrandera this year for the first time (thanks to the driving expertise of Maria
and map reading from Gemma). I went away with a BEST OF BREED with a black crested sow from my breeding - "Malibu K'Reenah-Mia"
(who was only 8 months old), and achieved BEST NOVICE with "Jutta". The rest is history...
