The SHELTIE (or silkie as it is sometimes known) is the longhaired version of the short/smooth coated cavy. It has long silky hair that falls away from the face and when exhibited the coat forms a "teardrop" shape. The hair on the back of the neck (known as the mane) is combed back towards the rump so there appears to be no parting of the hair. |
