Rare Varieties

The TORTOISESHELL is very similar to the Tortoiseshell and White, except for the obvious exclusion of the white. The body markings are made up of evenly spaced black and red squares on alternate sides of the body.

The BI COLOUR has the same marking positions as the Tortoishell except the colours are any two recognised colours other than Red and Black

As with the Bi Colour, the TRI COLOUR has the same markings as the Tortoise and White, except the colours must be three colours other than Black, Red and White toghether. Patches may be agouti also.

The BRINDLE cavy's coat consists of a mixture of Red and Black hairs covering the entire body.

The MAGPIE cavy has the same markings as the Harliquin, with the only difference being the colour. A Magpie's colour consists of Black, White and Black/White roaning.

The SABLE is a hard breed to describe. The back is a sepia brown color, with the face, head and ears being a darker colour. The colour from the back fades to a lighter colour as it goes underneath the body, with the underside being beige in colour.
